Firestopping is a passive containment approach to resist the spread of smoke, gas, and fire in a commercial building or home. Using a fire-resistant seal around openings, between joints, tops of walls, and wherever pipes, wires, ductwork, or conduit pass through a fire-rated wall or floor, contains the damage to the room/area in which a fire may start. It also maintains the integrity of passive fire protection systems, thereby saving lives and mitigating destruction to your property.
